Today in jellyfish news: A new laser imaging device can visualize the wake produced by a swimming jellyfish, which has research implications raging from behavior to how migrating animals contribute to “ocean mixing.”

(The SCUVA system shown in this video was developed by bioengineers Kakani Katija of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and John Dabiri from the California Institute of Technology.)
